Dear Church Family,
Anxiety is prevalent in so many people today. Worrisome thoughts fill our minds and it leads to a bodily response. As Christians, God’s Word tells us again and again not to be anxious and not to worry. Why? Because we have a God who is in control. More than that, we get to call this God Father. Just like a loving father protects, provides, and loves his children, our Heavenly Father protects, provides, and loves us more than we could ever know.
MLC Weekend – Join us this Sunday at 9:30 am as we welcome a son of our congregation, Juan David Escobar from the Seminary, to preach and present on the ministry partnership we have with Martin Luther College – our synod’s college of ministry which helps train our pastors, teachers, and staff ministers.
Also this Sunday, say hello to MLC recruiter MacKenzie Holzbauer who is spending a couple days with us in Doral. She’ll be at church worshiping with us and hosting a table with all kinds of information and MLC goodies to give away. After the service Juan David and MacKenzie will be giving a 30 minute presentation in the High School Commons and everyone who is not in START Class with me is invited to stay for that as well.

START Class This Sunday – What does the Bible teach? Participate in Pastor Ben’s START Class to learn the foundational teachings of our Lutheran Christian faith. Prepares you to receive the sacrament of Holy Communion at Divine Savior Church when you’re ready. Helps you know with certainty how Jesus has changed your life! Complete this brief form to let Pastor Ben you’d like to participate. New class started last Sunday after church but all are welcome to jump in this Sunday from 11:00-12:30. Childcare available if needed. Please email Pastor Ben to arrange.
Faith and Family Night – Wednesdays 7:00-8:30 pm. Come for Bible Study led by Pastor Ben from 7:00-8:10, stay for Worship from 8:15-8:30 pm, or just come for Worship. Join us again this Wednesday! We’re studying Jesus’ “I AM” statements found in the gospel of John.
All Pro Dad – Any dads and their kids who are in Kindergarten through 6th grade can team up with other dads and kids at our school once a month for All Pro Dad! We meet before school from 7:00-8:00 AM in the high school commons for a free breakfast and a character based-curriculum that helps dads start meaningful conversations with their kids. RSVP on our chapter website for our monthly breakfast on February 13.
Serving on the DSC Ambassador Team – We have an opportunity to represent Divine Savior Church at the upcoming school event, Touch-a-Truck on Saturday, February 22. You can help us connect with families from our local community! We offer a coloring station for kids at our DSC tent and have great conversations with parents to share info about our church family. We’re looking for more ambassadors on our team – how about you? Please contact Staff Minister Becky for more details
