Dear Church Family,
Have you ever felt out of place? Like cheering for the wrong team in the wrong stadium, or being all dressed up while everyone else is casual? Maybe you’ve been excited about something no one else seems to care about.
In our post-Christian world, the viewpoints around us often clash with the truths God gives us in His Word. This can make us feel like we don’t fit in. But that’s not a bad thing. In fact, it’s exactly what we’re called to do. We are meant to stand out, to shine like stars in a dark sky.
As we hold onto God’s Word and share it with others, we become those bright lights in the night. Imagine the difference a single star can make in a dark sky. That’s the difference we can make in the lives of others, just as Jesus has made a difference in ours.
Join us this Sunday for worship at 9:30 am as we continue our series on Philippians: Shine Like Stars. We’ll also be celebrating Youth Confirmation for those who will be publicly confessing their unity of faith with us and receive the Lord’s Supper for the first time.

New START Classes Starting Sundays In-Person Or Thursday evenings online! – What does the Bible teach? Participate in Pastor Ben’s START Class to learn the foundational teachings of our Lutheran Christian faith. Prepares you to receive the sacrament of Holy Communion at Divine Savior Church when you’re ready. Helps you know with certainty how Jesus has changed your life! Complete this brief registration form to let Pastor Ben know you’d like to participate and which class you intend to join. New in-person class will begin after church this Sunday, May 18th from 11:00-12:30. Childcare available if needed. Additionally, you can choose to take the class online Thursday evenings from 7:00-8:30 pm starting May 22nd.
New GROW Class Starting Sunday! For those who’ve completed START Class and are ready to take their next step. We’ll begin this Sunday after worship about 11:00 am. Thank you to Hank Hoenecke for teaching the first sessions.
Pastor Ben Has a Call – On April 29 I was surprised to receive a Call to Hope Lutheran Church in Toronto, Canada. It’s a multicultural congregation in a big city with people from over 25 different countries. What does this mean? Sarah and I gladly welcome your perspective and prayers as we seek to understand and decide where we can best serve in God’s kingdom whether here or there. Please feel free to reach out with any thoughts you have.
Camp South – Every year, Divine Savior Church takes a group of youth to Camp South, a Bible Camp for youth entering 5th-8th grades. We will also take 9th graders who are in our DSC confirmation class. Kids get to study God’s Word, develop Christian friendships, and grow in their faith. Camp South takes place in Covington, Georgia from July 21-25th, 2025. Check out the 2024 Camp South video here to see what camp is like. Registration for Camp South is open, but space is limited! Find all the info and registration link on the Divine Savior Church app home page. We also need chaperones for Camp South. All travel and registration costs for chaperones are covered, and it’s a lot of fun! Any questions? Talk to Pastor Caleb.
Update your Info – Once a year we ask that you take a minute to update your contact information and profile in our system (MyDSC). This is our database and is different from the DSC App. Click here to log in. Please upload a current photo of yourself to better help our ministry staff and check the following: mailing address, email contact, phone number, birthday and anniversary (if applicable). Congregational Annual Meeting Sunday June 1 – We want everyone in our church family to be informed in the ministry we carry out together as Divine Savior Church. Our Annual Meeting to review the ministry plans and proposals of our Church Council for the approaching new fiscal year and vote on them is Sunday, June 1st after each worship service. All are invited to attend.

Summer Worship Schedule Due to summer travel schedules and limited staff/volunteer resources, we will be pausing the Saturday bilingual worship service. It will resume again in August. Worship services on Sunday morning will continue as normal in English at 9:30 am and Spanish at 11:30 am.
