Rebuilding with God

What's the Big Idea?

A Message Series on Nehemiah

The people of God had been in exile for 70 years and now were returning to Jerusalem. However, the city was destroyed and the walls were broken down. The remnant was living in a city without walls. When Nehemiah, who was serving as cupbearer to the king of Persia, heard this, he was filled with compassion and began praying for God to act. Through Nehemiah’s leadership, we see God rebuilding life for his people in ways that only God could make happen–physically, the walls of Jerusalem, spiritually, the hearts of the people. Through God’s Word and the strength He gives us from the Holy Spirit, God rebuilds our lives into the kind of lives that carry out his plans for us.
