Dear Church Family,
Faith takes time to grow. Do you ever need that reminder? I sure do. I like to see immediate results. How shortsighted of me! What unrealistic expectations I burden myself with!
There’s a little story tucked into Mark chapter 4 that reminds us how God works. God uses small things that can have a big impact over time. What’s required of us? Patience. And trust. Trust in the power of a little seed – a gospel seed!
That’s why this Sunday we’ll be talking about a core value that sounds like this: We love to plant gospel seeds. What does this mean? We will learn how to celebrate whenever we have opportunities to talk about what Jesus has done for us. We will take comfort in the fact that God will change lives through His Word one person at a time…even while we sleep!
26 He also said, “This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. 27 Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how. 28 All by itself the soil produces grain—first the stalk, then the head, then the full kernel in the head. 29 As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come.” (Mark 4:25-29)
Join us for worship this Sunday at 9:30 AM in English or 11:30 AM in Spanish. All are welcome!
Have you seen our series promo yet? ICYMI check it out here on our YouTube channel and share it with your friends. They’re invited too!
ICYMI watch last Sunday’s special service or catch just the bilingual sermon that Pastor Steve and I co-preached with captions in both English and Spanish. I think the message and motivation of this sermon encapsulates everything we aspire to become as members of Divine Savior Church. ***Make sure to turn “CC” on to see the captions.***

Hurricane Florence Help. Ascension Lutheran Church in Jacksonville, NC is a mission church that serves many young families stationed at Camp Lejeune Marine Base. Their ministry center suffered severe damage during the hurricane and some member homes were damaged. It is not yet known how many. Many of Ascension’s families haven’t yet been able to return to assess the damage. I’ve been in communication with Pastor Doug Lange who serves Ascension. Here’s what we know. Here’s how you can help.
Christian Aid and Relief is going to be sending two trailers to Raleigh, NC in order to serve Jacksonville. It is yet unknown the scope of their work. There may yet be an opportunity for people from Doral to potentially travel to Jacksonville to help with their recovery work. Stay tuned. In the meantime if God moves you to do so you are welcome to donate online to Hurricane Relief in support of the work of Christian Aid and Relief.
Furthermore, as a way of giving directly to help Pastor Lange and his members, this Sunday you are invited to bring VISA gift card(s) to church that we will send to Pastor Lange asap. That way he will be able to bless his members and community neighbors in a personal way according to their needs whether it’s buying food, water, fuel, supplies or whatever else. If we were able to send 25-50 VISA gift cards to Pastor Lange, then he can be empowered to help his members and neighbors in the name of Jesus.
Delray Beach Campus Dedication: The dedication worship service for our Divine Savior Delray Beach Campus is at 10:30 AM this Sunday. Anyone from our Doral Campus family who wants to attend that service is certainly welcome to. (The cool thing is you would hear Pastor Joel preach on the same core value that we’ll be preaching on here: We love to Plant Gospel Seeds!) Later in the afternoon there is also a ribbon cutting and Grand Opening to follow at 4:00 PM. So perhaps another option this Sunday would be to attend worship in Doral but then attend the ribbon cutting at 4:00 PM. That’s what I’ll be doing. However, you are welcome to do whatever gives you joy in this case! #TeamDivineSavior
